Shit, were you going for a streak in the BBS? If so, I'm sorry :( I'm pretty much done for the night anyway, not that I frequent the BBS often.
Nah I wasn't going for no BBS streaks lol. Not sure what those are now I feel out of touch =P
Some BBS hounds (used to) take screen shots of all their icons in a row, usually when it's real quiet. If anyone's out of touch, it's yours truly.
Any prospective employers get back to you yet? Not easy, I know, but any foot you can get in the door helps, even doing shit PA work. If this were 15-20 years ago (before 9/11 and the great recession), I'd say hang around film/digital video editing suites, studios of all kinds, make associations that way, create a routine, do the rounds, after a while people get curious and/or relaxed around you. Leave DVD's of your work and contact info around (watermark the vid).
Maybe animate a quickie of whoever you send your CV to, you know, if their picture is on their website... don't suggest stalking for ref pics O_o
Hahah yeah definitely gotta be proactive. Right now I'm doing animation shorts to add to my reel, and I'm trying to make my resume look more artistic and dynamic as opposed to just looking good with credentials. I got a few emails back from people but they were to tell me that they liked me but that the position was filled. Right now if I could strengthen my reel and apply "on time" for more summer internships then I think I'll be in a good position for the next season. I've already gotten close to finishing this 15 second short about a sort of Rambo Penguin, when I finish that up I'll probably make another short and try to have it done by the end of May.
I'll ask about art galleries when I'm at the office party next weekend. Sounds like you're on the right track, wishing you the best man!
